Bosch induction, electric and gas cooktops use different displays and controls. Match every code or symbol to the E-Nr and operating instructions. Bosch advises that electrical and gas repairs should be performed by a competent technician.
Common codes, messages and symptoms to record
- Control lock or child-lock symbol
- Unsuitable or missing cookware display
- Residual-heat indicator
- Overheating warning
- Touch-control warning
- Power or connection fault
- Ignition problem
- Technical fault display
Safe first response
Remove cookware and allow the cooktop to cool. Clean and dry only the user-accessible control surface. Stop if the glass is cracked, there is a gas smell, sparking, burning smell or repeated power tripping.
What to record before requesting help
- Photograph the complete display.
- Record the E-Nr and FD number from the rating plate without moving a heavy or built-in appliance.
- Note when the fault appears and whether it returns after the appliance is switched off normally.
- Stop using the appliance if there is water leakage, smoke, burning smell, gas smell, unsafe heat or repeated electrical tripping.
