MODEL-SPECIFIC ERROR-CODE GUIDANCE

Oven Error Codes and Fault Guide

Oven errors may concern temperature sensing, heating, cooling fans, door locks, controls or power. Switch the oven off for smoke, sparks, a burning smell, uncontrolled heat or repeated breaker trips.

START WITH THE SYMPTOM

Common fault groups

These groups help describe the problem. They do not replace the manufacturer manual or appliance diagnosis.

Temperature and heating

Note whether every cooking mode is affected and whether the displayed temperature changes unexpectedly.

Door and pyrolytic lock

Never force or bypass a locked door. Allow the appliance to cool and follow the model manual.

Fan and cooling

Unusual noise or a cooling warning needs investigation, especially if the cabinet becomes abnormally hot.

Power and controls

Record the complete code after any power interruption; do not remove the oven or access live wiring.

BRAND EXAMPLES

Codes are not universal

Always verify the exact model. Similar-looking codes can have different meanings across brands and product generations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Oven code questions

What does my oven error code mean?

The meaning depends on the brand, exact model and sometimes the program stage. Record the complete code and model number, then compare it with the manufacturer manual before treating it as a diagnosis.

Can I reset the code by switching the appliance off?

A single power reset may clear a temporary message when the manufacturer manual recommends it, but repeated codes should not be continually reset. Stop using the appliance for leaks, smoke, sparks, burning smells, overheating or repeated electrical trips.

What information should I include in a repair request?

Include the brand, full model number, complete code or light pattern, when it appears, what the appliance was doing and any unusual sound, smell, leak or heat.

Does an error code confirm which part has failed?

No. A code identifies a condition detected by the appliance and several causes may be possible. Proper diagnosis is needed before parts are selected.
