Miele dishwasher fault codes cover water inlet, drainage, circulation, heating, controls and safety systems. Meanings can differ between G-series generations, so check the model number and the exact wording shown.
Miele dishwasher fault-code list
- F1
- F2
- F11 — Drainage fault. Water has not drained correctly. The safe checking procedure differs between older G1xxx–G6xxx machines and newer G7xxx/G5xxx Discovery models, so confirm the model first.
- F12 — Water-inlet fault. The dishwasher has detected insufficient or interrupted incoming water. Check the tap and visible hose without dismantling the appliance.
- F13 — Water-inlet fault. The required water flow was not achieved. The cause can be external supply, a restriction or an internal component.
- F14
- F15 — Hot-water inlet fault. The dishwasher has detected a problem with the configured hot-water supply. Confirm the exact model and installation settings.
- F18
- F19
- F24 — Heater-relay or heating-circuit fault. This is a technical fault requiring diagnosis; do not select parts from the code alone.

- F70 — Waterproof system activated. The dishwasher has detected water where it should not be. Stop using it, close the water tap and arrange service; do not tilt the appliance to clear the warning.
- F78 — Circulation-pump fault. The wash circulation system is not operating as expected. A sticking pump after long disuse is one possibility, but the code does not confirm which part needs replacement.

Selected fault meanings and safe next steps
Checked against Miele Australia guidance on 13 September 2026. This is a selected explanation guide, not a service manual or a diagnosis of your appliance. The directory above does not mean every code applies to every model.
F11: older G1xxx to G6xxx models
Water remaining in the cabinet can result from an obstruction or incorrectly seated non-return valve. Disconnect the appliance before owner maintenance and beware of broken glass. Use the instructions for this generation, not the newer pump-cover procedure.

F11: G7xxx and G5xxx Discovery from 2019
Miele provides a separate procedure involving the drain-pump cover and possible obstruction. Confirm the model before following that procedure. A drainage code alone does not prove that the pump needs replacement.

F70: Waterproof protection
Stop using the dishwasher. Close the water tap, switch off and unplug only if safe to reach. Miele identifies activation of the Waterproof system and recommends service. Do not tilt the appliance to clear the warning.

F78: circulation fault
A circulation pump sticking after a long period without use is one possibility; a technical fault is another. The code is not a confirmed parts diagnosis. Miele provides a specific procedure with temperature precautions; read it in full or arrange service.

Questions before booking a repair
Does the code tell me which part to replace?
No. A fault display describes a detected condition. Record the complete code, model and symptoms before a technician diagnoses the cause. Do not buy a part based only on a code.
What if my code is not explained here?
Check the official Miele support directory linked above and the operating instructions for your exact model. Send us a photo of the display and the model details when requesting help.
When should I stop using the appliance?
Stop if there is leaking water, smoke, a burning smell, electrical tripping or uncontrolled heat. Do not remove panels or bypass safety devices. Isolate power only where safe to do so and arrange professional help.
What information helps with a repair enquiry?
Provide the model, full code, when it appears, whether it returns, and your suburb. Do not move a heavy or built-in appliance just to find its label.
